Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement after she voted for the FY2025 National Defense Authorization Act:

“Our world is in a dangerous place, and it is incredibly vital we maintain a strong national security and provide essential support to our servicemembers as they fight to defend our nation. This National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) does just that by giving a 14.5% raise to our junior enlisted servicemembers, helping military spouses maintain employment, and enhancing our nation’s recruiting programs so the next generation of our military is even stronger. This legislation takes action to fight back against reckless aggression by the Chinese Communist Party in the Indo-Pacific and ensures our sensitive defense intelligence remains protected. Importantly, this NDAA also helps secure both our southern border and our maritime border by supporting Border Patrol and ongoing counternarcotics activities. I was proud to support this legislation that not only advances a robust military, but also ends the Biden Administration’s emphasis on culture wars and focuses our military on its core mission: defending our nation. > > “I was proud to advocate for our greater St. Louis region and can announce that the NDAA will continue to support jobs and economic growth here at home with the inclusion of $2.4 billion for 24 F-15EX aircraft that are built in Missouri, fighting back against the Administration’s misguided attempt to cut six of these critical aircraft. With dictators and other bad actors seeking to destabilize our world and very way of life, a strong America is critically important to deter and defend against our enemies.”
