There are over 200 elective offices in St. Charles County, including the 7 member County Council; the County Executive and 6 other county officials; 15 City Councils and Boards of Aldermen; 15 mayors; 6 School Boards, 7 Fire District boards of directors; the Ambulance District board of directors; the St. Charles County Community College District trustees; and 13 trial judges of the 11th  Judicial Circuit Court.

These offices have a direct impact on the daily lives of St. Charles County Residents.  They levy sales taxes and property taxes; they deliver services such as police, fire, and ambulance; they operate the public schools attended by our children; they build and repair roads, streets, sewers and sidewalks in our neighborhoods; they protect the quiet enjoyment of our homes; they plan and manage growth and development of our communities.

It is important that good people run for local elective offices.  To help public-spirited citizens to take the challenge, the St. Charles County Republican Central Committee sponsors a Candidate School every year.  This Candidate School is designed for people who are considering a run for public office or who have decided to run and for people who just want to work for a candidate’s campaign.

We need good people to run for local elective offices.  To help citizens learn how to be successful candidates the St. Charles County Republican Central Committee is holding its 5th Annual Candidate School on October 23, 2021, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2310 Technology Drive, O’Fallon, MO 63368.  Doors open at 8:00 am.  A box lunch will be provided to attendees.
