JEFFERSON CITY — Today, Governor Eric Greitens called for a special session centered around issues at the heart of the Pro-Life movement.
The Governor is urging lawmakers to pass new common-sense health and safety standards for abortion clinics after a recent court ruling struck down several basic safety measures. These new standards are aimed at protecting women’s health. The session also includes an effort to stop St. Louis from becoming an abortion sanctuary city, since they’ve now said that pro-life organizations can’t hire solely pro-life Missourians.
“Governor Greitens is fighting to protect the lives of women and the innocent unborn here in Missouri. It’s important that we have leaders who are willing to promote a culture of life,” said Austin Stukins, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party. “This is an important and historic pro-life special session that will protect the lives of Missourians. ”
Special session will begin Monday, June 12th.
